Whitehall Shooting

After a suspect opened fire Tuesday morning, June 11 in Whitehall, police shot dead the suspect at 06:11 a.m. The incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. on 1800 block of Parkline Drive when the suspect’s home was being searched for illegal firearms by Whitehall Police and PA Attorney General Agents.

“There was one shot and then all of a sudden rapid firing. It was like, literally right outside my apartment door.”

The suspect started shooting at the agents and officers present, and they fired back, striking the suspect several times.

It’s unclear from the scene whether an officer was shot.

Detectives investigating homicides in Allegheny County have been called to the scene.

Officials say the scene is secure at this time and there is no threat to the public.

Law enforcement officials are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available, and the investigation is still ongoing.
