Mercy Hospital Shooting

Monday, April 7, at roughly 10:07 a.m., Mercy Hospital, a reputable general hospital located in Fort Smith, Arkansas, posted on its X page for everyone to stay off the hospital grounds due to an active shooter inside the structure.

They highly request that you stay in your car and stay away from the building if you are in the vicinity. At this moment, the Fort Smith Police Department, Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office, and Arkansas State Police are on the scene and doing everything within their power to make the facility clear.

Lockdown procedures have been implemented at the hospital due to the current circumstances. No entering and leaving.

“If my mother in law hadn’t finished chemo last week she would’ve been there for her weekly appointment. I’m gutted for the people who are there now. Sick and having to deal with this bs. Keeping them in my prayers.”

As of right now, not much is known about the suspect, the circumstances surrounding the shooting, or whether a victim has been identified.
