Avon Grove High School Lockdown: Southern Chester County, Pennsylvania’s Avon Grove High School, a public high school, was put on lockdown due to a security threat.

Following information that someone was reportedly walking around with a rifle, the school was put on lockdown. Since then, the Pennsylvania State Police has reaffirmed that the threat was a hoax and that all students and employees are safe.

An alert from the school district informing parents and guardians of the lockdown advised them not to approach the school and that additional updates will be given as soon as possible.

The message from the police states: “State Police have confirmed a threat at the high school was a swatting (hoax) incident. Students & staff are safe. More information to follow.”

While the incident was being evaluated and handled by law police, the lockdown was implemented as a preventative measure to guarantee the safety of the children and employees. The threat has been determined to be unfounded, and it has been established that everyone within the school is safe.
