Brian Lopez Lynn MA

Brian Lopez, 17, of Lynn, has been “tentatively” identified as the body that was discovered near Walden Pond on Tuesday afternoon, July 30, in Saugus, according to Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Lynn Police Chief Christopher Reddy. Prior to this terrible incident, a family member attested that Brian had always visited the pond often.

After going missing on Friday, July 26, in the vicinity of the Lynn Woods reservation, an extensive search was conducted for Brian Lopez.

He was last observed on camera strolling along Myrtle Street in Lynn in the direction of Walnut Street. That same day, his cell phone was found in Lynn on Gardiner St.

The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, drones, K-9 search dogs, mountain bikes, A.T.V.s, and foot searches were among the many resources used in the Lynn Woods during Brian’s disappearance, according to the Lynn Police. It is unfortunate that the hunt for Brian ended in tragedy.

The cause of Brian Lopez’s death is still unknown because the matter is still being investigated.
