Buck Trent Death: Today Monday, at approximately 7:36, October 9, the news broke out that Buck Trent, 5-string banjo picker, down-home humorist, and entertainer extraordinaire at Buck Trent Country Music Show passed away at the age of 86. He created the electric banjo and was a fantastic musician and performer. Buck appeared with Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton for eleven years on the Porter Wagoner television program. Many of Porter’s successes, notably The Carroll County Accident, feature his electric banjo playing.

“Just received the news that Buck Trent passed away this morning. Buck was not only known for his amazing talent on the banjo and guitar, but he was an incredible entertainer.
Buck was truly an amazing talent. I enjoyed getting to play drums for a few years with him and every time I did, he always kept encouraging me to keep doing what I’m doing. I owe a lot to Buck and his wife Jean. I am very thankful to have had a friendship with him and for him to give me a chance. RIP Mr. Banjo My thoughts and prayers go out to Jean and the rest of his family.”

The world has lost an amazing entertainer and innovator. There was only one Buck Trent! He was such an accomplished musician, amazing entertainer, and boy could he tell a story! The final Wagonmaster, Buck, was a fantastic entertainer and inventor. Buck Trent was the lone individual! He was a wonderful entertainer and storyteller in addition to being a very skilled musician.
He was a former member of the “Hee Haw” cast and the recipient of two CMA Instrumentalist of the Year awards. In addition to his extraordinary skill on the guitar and banjo, Buck was a legendary performer.
Everyone is currently in agony upon learning that Buck had passed away. All who attended Buck’s live performances would count themselves fortunate to have seen him play and to have had the chance to meet him. He was a gentleman.
