After receiving a report of a male hurt in Cambridge, Waterloo Regional Police launched an investigation into a shooting.

Police were called to the scene of an injured individual in the vicinity of Water Street North and Dundas Street South on August 18, 2024, at around three in the morning.

When police arrived, they discovered a male, age 22, who had been shot in the leg and was being taken to the hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services. His injuries were not life-threatening.

To recover a vehicle that is involved from the Grand River, there will be more police presence at Water Street North and Dando Avenue.

According to investigators, this occurrence was intentional.

The Robbery Team of the Waterloo Regional Police Service is still investigating.
