Following a multi-mile police pursuit, authorities are looking into a shooting that involved one of their officers inside an apartment building in Castleton. The culprit reportedly shot a woman, led police on a mile-long pursuit, and threatened a woman with a knife before being shot and killed by police this afternoon, according to reports.
The incident happened in the 8400 block of Maple Leaf Lane, close to I-69 and Castleton Square Mall, according to the IMPD.
Officers were dispatched to 9001 Wesleyan Road just before that, at approximately 3:10 p.m., in response to a shooting at an office park.
Little information has been released by the police thus far while they are gathered in the Fortis College parking lot.
This is allegedly the beginning of an event that transpired in the Castleton region. There has been no news on the specific incident that sparked the crosstown problem.
