Condolence Messages

According to Keri Johnson
“Chris was my mentor in my first year in real estate, he helped me not only learn the ropes of real estate, but also achieve a massive goal I set for myself to be Rookie Of The Year for all of JLS Oregon and SW Washington. It was a lofty goal, I had never in my life set a goal so big, and spoke it out loud. But Chris believed in me and was one of my biggest supporters. Anyone who knew Chris knew that supporting people and helping them achieve their goals was one of his special qualities.
I’ll remember Chris as the guy who always called me “rockstar” – even my last text from him started with “hey rockstar”. And I’ll never forget his role in my career, but what I will remember most about Chris Garfield, is how much he loved his daughter Shelby.”
According to Jordan Matin
“I first met Chris Garfield at a short sale class at Summa Real Estate in 2010. Since then he’s been my go to expert for anything mortgage/foreclosure/short sale. Chris was always the most positive guy. Leading with service and kindness. Just a genuinely good dude. His sudden passing is shocking to the entire community. I will always remember him as a kind man who cared deeply for him family, community and colleagues.”
According to Jesse Dill
“Very sad to hear about the passing of Chris Garfield, an incredible person, colleague and friend. The impact this one person made on the world and so many lives is extraordinary. Taken simply too soon. Rest in peace brother.”

Who Is Chris Garfield

Chris is a former Forest Grove High School student who works as a real estate broker at the John L. Scott Market Center-Forest Grove. He currently resides in Forest Grove, a city in Oregon’s Washington County that is surrounded by picturesque rural areas including farms and forests.

He was a helper in every manner, strong as nails yet not afraid to be sympathetic and affectionate. He was intensely competitive about everything, and he wanted everyone around him to win alongside him. His affection for his family, friends, and even complete strangers was strong.

He was able to accomplish enormous success in life without harming anyone else. It’s unusual these days, but he made it appear simple. “Just take care of people,” he would repeat all the time. He was a people builder, and his zeal was contagious. I can’t recall a single interaction with him that didn’t make me chuckle. He was usually prepared with a cheesy joke.
