Following a police chase and gunshot involving Dallas police officers, I-35E northbound near Lewisville was closed.
The chief of police in Dallas says the guy who is suspected of shooting one officer dead and wounded two others had targeted law enforcement. The dead cop was put to death after the officers were ambushed.
After the shooting, two other police officers were hurt, and one Texas cop passed away from his wounds. According to the authorities, the shooting took place on Thursday night, August 29, 2024.
The 30-year-old former truck driver who is suspected of shooting and killing the Dallas police officer on Thursday as well as injuring two others has been identified. Recently, his social media accounts have been flooded with posts that seem to be apocalyptic or pseudoreligious.
Authorities said that the suspect was shot and killed in Lewisville following a pursuit. If he died from the shots, it is unclear from the available information.
