Forest Park Shooting

On Monday morning, September 2, a shooting on a train in Forest Park Blue resulted in the deaths of four persons.

The four victims were shot on a westbound train at 711 Desplaines Ave., according to Forest Park police.

Three people were reported dead at the spot by the police. A fourth person was declared dead after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Using camera footage, CTA security and Forest Park Police were able to find the culprit. After being found on a CTA Pink Line train, the suspect was apprehended. They found a weapon.

There has been a temporary suspension of Blue Line service between Forest Park and Austin. There will be CTA trains and shuttle buses running between O’Hare and Austin.

There doesn’t seem to be any immediate danger to the community and the occurrence seems to be isolated.
