Garfield High School Seattle Shooting

According to officers, a 17-year-old boy was shot and is currently having surgery at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center. The teenager was shot near Garfield High School in Seattle’s Central District; the shooting is being looked into by the Seattle Police Department.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, the shooting near 23rd Ave. and E. Alder St. was first reported to the community.

When the victim attempted to intervene, there was a fight between the two parties. One of them walked up to the victim, took out a gun, and opened fire. Family members claim that he was shot in the side of his lower body.

According to police, the school was put on lockdown for roughly two hours. At 3:15 p.m., the lockdown was lifted, and parents and students were given information by Seattle Public Schools about a reunification site.
