Glen Cochrane Obituary

Glen Cochrane Passed Away: The news that Glen Cochrane passed away at the age of 65 following a fight with cancer has left many heartbroken. On January 29th, “Cocher” would have celebrated turning 66. He was a current scout for the Anaheim Ducks and an NHL alumni.

Like he would any opponent on the ice, he fought cancer with all of his might. The public was informed of his departure on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

From 1978 to 1989, Cochrane participated in 411 NHL games with Philadelphia, Vancouver, Chicago, and Edmonton. In that time, he scored 89 points on 17 goals. He had started working as an NHL scout in 2001.

“I was so sad to hear today that Glen Cochrane passed away at 65. He was a rugged defenseman on the ice, & you certainly didn’t want to get in a fight with him! But a sweetheart of a guy off the ice. Condolences to his family for sure. R.I.P. Glen Cochrane.”

After being selected by the Flyers in the first round, Glen spent more than half of his six seasons as an Orange & Black player. In his NHL career, he recorded 1556 PIM, but his Flyer days are his most memorable. He was just as hardy as they got.

Glen had coached at the junior and minor league levels for ten years before spending the final seventeen years of his life with the Ducks, scouting across Western Canada.

No matter how briefly he interacted with someone, he consistently made a good impression.

The burial arrangements for Glen have not yet been decided by the family because they are still in mourning. Any information on Glen’s funeral arrangements that becomes available will be updated on this page (isinfo24).
