Grant Marcuccio Missing

Family and friends are now into their fourth full day of searching Glacier National Park for a missing climber.

Those who had been with Grant Marcuccio, 32, of Whitefish, Montana, earlier in the day reported him missing to park officials on Sunday evening, August 22, 2024.

“Marcuccio separated from his party while hiking from Heavens Peak to McPartland Peak,” a National Park Service (NPS) press release states. “He was last seen heading toward McPartland. Marcuccio did not arrive to the rendezvous spot as planned.”

He is characterized as a 6-foot White man with brown eyes, short hair, and a weight of 175 pounds. According to NPS, he might be sporting a brown and white checkered top with brown shorts.

Using rangers, search teams, and Two Bear Air Rescue aircraft, rescuers have been looking for Marcuccio since Monday. On Wednesday, a Forest Service aircraft helped send search teams to the region and fly over to look for him.

Many hundreds of people have expressed their prayers for Marcuccio’s safe return in their comments.

By calling 406-888-7077, the park’s tip line is asking anyone who observed someone who fit Marcuccio’s description or who may have information to share.
