Kole Hebert January Shooting: Kole Hebert, Tracy and Kelly Hebert’s son, was shot at the neck on Saturday, January 6. His wounds could potentially be fatal. Because of the amputation of his cervical spinal cord, Kole is paralyzed from the neck down and is unable to breathe on his own without the assistance of a ventilator.
What Happened To Kole Hebert
In addition, he suffered a severe lesion to his esophagus and a fracture to his skull. Kole was taken to Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, where he will undergo a tracheotomy so that he can continue to require full assistance with his breathing, as well as surgery to repair the gunshot wound to his neck, voice box placement, hardware to support his cervical spine, and repair of the skull fracture.
It is not possible to recover the gunshot fragments. Right now, his medical team is certain that he has these injuries. The coming days and weeks will be crucial as his medical team does additional tests and investigations to determine whether he has any hidden injuries.
Kole, who recently turned eighteen, was scheduled to graduate in May 2024.
His parents do not want to hear the awful news that has been delivered to their family. Kole will receive his initial care at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge for a minimum of the next two weeks. He will then spend many months in a rehabilitation center.
He enjoys being outside, hunting, fishing, and of course, baseball, as many of you are aware. Kole pledged to attend LSUE in the autumn of 2025, receiving a full baseball scholarship. He is the youngest of one sister, Katie Hebert Douet, and four brothers, Chase Guidroz, Chaz Hebert, and Kade Hebert.
The bad news and prognosis regarding their loved one have left his family and friends in complete shock. They understand that this will be a very long journey for them and are asking for your assistance so that the family may stay by his side even though their lives have been irrevocably altered.
