Luis Yamil Marcano Motorcycle Accident

On Sunday, at 10:08 p.m., a tragic collision was reported on the Román Baldorioty De Castro expressway in front of the Luis Llorens Torres residential building in San Juan. Luis Yamil Marcano Pastrana was struck by a dark-colored Ford F-150 guagua that the driver of which left the site of the incident as he was riding a white 2009 Honda CRF-450 motorbike in the area, according to initial police information.

The victim’s injuries caused her to pass away in the act.

The case was taken up by prosecutor Maryline Aponte Rodriguez and agent Norail Travieso of the Criminal case Corps of San Juan.

After completing the Agustín Mercado Reverón Vocational Equestrian School’s riding program in December 2022, Marcano made his racing debut as an apprentice at Camaro Racetrack, where he rode the imported Brooks N Band, owned by Veteran stable and coached by Richard Black, to win the fifth race on January 1, 2023.

He continued to operate out of Puerto Rico until February 26, 2023, when he completed his final assignment before heading to the United States in pursuit of even greater success. So, on March 2, 2023, he made his debut at Mahoning Valley Racecourse in Ohio, coming in second.

He went back to Puerto Rico in October of last year to ride at Camaro Racecourse and spend the winter with his family. It was there that he won his final race, on November 3, while riding Transistora for the Artcom Stud and being coached by Jesús Cartagena, Jr.

In 382 drives, he amassed 52 victories, 44 seconds, and 56 thirds, with his mounts producing prizes totaling $707,642.
