Madison Becknell Louisville, Kentucky Traffic Collision - Obituary

The Era has confirmed that Madison Pearl Becknell, 21, a senior at the University of Kentucky and an alum of Oldham County High School, died on Wednesday, just after 9 a.m. on February 28, when her car collided with a tractor-trailer on La Grange Road in Shelby County.

The cause of the crash is still being looked into.

Who Is Madison Becknell

Madison lives in Crestwood, Kentucky, where she was born. She was a senior at the University of Kentucky, where she was minoring in communication and earning a B.S. in clinical leadership and management.

She was the kind of friend who was always joyful, entertaining, and showed concern for others. She treated everyone she came into contact with with such sweetness. She embodies everything that makes a friend truly great. It was a joyful and enjoyable atmosphere if Madison was present.

Madison was incredibly loved and provided her family and friends with “pure sunshine.” Her brilliant smile and cheerful spirit were contagious, making it impossible to be around her without being affected. She cherished her role as a volunteer and member of Louisville, Kentucky’s Southeast Christian Church. While attending the University of Kentucky, she was a member of Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky.

“Madison was sunshine in human form. Any room she entered, she lit up and Madison always made any person she encountered feel like the most important person. She truly embodied what it means to be a kind, loving person. The impact and legacy she leaves behind is tremendous and we will miss her greatly, but we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to call Madison our sister,” Emma Pence, Chapter President.

Madison was a selfless giver who was always willing to lend a hand—whether it was with money or time—and liked helping others.
