According to Hydro, the worker was working on a project involving a power outage on Thursday morning, August 8, the cause of death is being looked into.
Wab Kinew on X was deeply “saddened by the loss of a valued Manitoba Hydro worker who tragically passed away today while addressing a power outage in the Interlake. My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to their family, friends, and colleagues.”
According to Hydro, there is no threat to public safety, and the business is assisting law enforcement.
The employee’s name will not be disclosed by Manitoba Hydro in order to protect the family’s privacy.
