Mark Carnevale Cause Of Death

On Monday, July 22, 2024, at the age of 64, Mark Carnevale, the 1992 PGA Tour rookie of the year and one of the top short iron/wedge players, passed dead. Two weeks ago, Mark, a former player on the PGA organization who was now a golf announcer, unexpectedly passed away, according to a statement from the organization.

Before getting his PGA Tour card back in late 1991, Carnevale competed for ten years on the PGA Tour and smaller tours. In less than a year, he defeated Ed Dougherty and Dan Forsman by two shots to win the Chattanooga Classic, his first and only PGA Tour victory.

Carnevale played golf at James Madison College in Virginia. He was born in Annapolis, Maryland. He was the first golfer from Dukes to compete in The Open, and he was recognized into the JMU Hall of Fame in 1999.

Mark Carnevale Cause Of Death

No cause of death has been released yet.

“He was an energetic partner at Golf Channel in the booth calling @kornferrytour events years ago and then we teamed among many at SiriusXM where he was an original talent. Kind, caring … cranky at times in the very best of ways. He never said “no” to me, was excited to chat and was always in love with the game where he excelled. A former @pgatour ROY, today is a just a huge loss for so many and the airwaves as well.”

Carnevale also claimed victories on the U.S. Golf Tour and the Nike Tour, which is currently renamed the Korn Ferry Tour. His highest finish was T25 in 1998. He qualified for the U.S. Open twice, in 1994 and 1998, and he made the cut both times.

He was well-versed in the game and did a fantastic job of sharing insights with fans from numerous tour events throughout the years, all while maintaining his distinct point of view and entertaining them with wit and humor.

In 2005, Carnevale started working as a golf broadcaster for SiriusXM Radio. Additionally, he has contributed to PGA Tour Live, the ESPN-streamed extended tournament coverage.

According to the PGA Tour, Carnevale was set to cover this week’s 3M Open in addition to working the Genesis Scottish Open earlier this month as a walking reporter for PGA Tour Radio. He will be sorely missed.

As they navigate this difficult time, remember and pray for his family and friends.
