Emma Stone Husband: The Afghan Hound Association is startled and grieved to learn about Mark Cocozza’s unexpected and abrupt demise. After serving as the Afghan Hound Association Association’s Chairman for a number of years, Mark remained a devoted friend and lifetime supporter of the organization.
What Happened To Mark Cocozza
The cause of his passing has not yet been disclosed. On Sunday, January 14, 2024, Mark went gone. For more than 40 years, Mark served as an international judge and was involved in the purebred dog sport.
“Still reeling from the shocking news of Mark Cocozza’s untimely death. First met Mark as a school-kid handling his uncle’s Afghans at the AHCS show. We travelled to shows together, sat our judging exam together. Mark was one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever known and despite being 13 years his senior, learnt so much from him. I will treasure the time we spent together and the happy memories.”
Mark made the most of his life and succeeded in a variety of endeavors. When he was a young man in Scotland, he started working with his uncle’s Afghans. He had a long and prosperous career raising champions from six different breeds, yet he never lost his affection for the Afghan.
His interests expanded, and he became quite successful with several breeds. His judging skills improved, and people all over the globe valued his judgments. In the UK, he received CCs in every group, qualified to judge four groups and the BIS, and completed a number of esteemed overseas appointments.
More recently, his passion for the dog world drove him to actively assist and train prospective judges. He was frequently spotted sharing his knowledge and experience at ringside.
The Afghan Hound Association is honored to have known Mark for a long time and will always value his friendship and guidance.
