Lakewood NJ, Matisyahu Salomon Obituary: On Tuesday, January 2, at the age of 86, BDE Rav Matisyahu Salomon ZT”L, the mashgiach ruchani of the Beth Medrash Govoha Yeshiva in Lakewood, New Jersey, passed away following a protracted illness.
He had already been evacuated from Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus to University Hospital of Pennsylvania prior to his dying. There was no increased urgency necessity for the transition or the airlift.
The reason of death has not yet been disclosed to the public; the investigation is ongoing.
In the yeshiva community, Matisyahu gave lectures on subjects including Jewish religious development and social challenges.
He was a cherished friend, father, uncle, and someone who gave freely to others. He would support, uplift, and assist anyone who was in need.
