Monterio Williams Shooting

Around 12:26 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, Chicago Police responded to multiple reports of gunfire and an individual being shot near Wabash & Washington. Both boys were unconscious on the sidewalk when they arrived. After receiving CPR for his gunshot wounds to the hip and chest, Monterio was sent to Northwestern Hospital with a death certificate (DOA) in hand. Robert, a different teenager, was discovered to have gunshot wounds to his chest. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital and subsequently declared deceased.

A third victim entered Northwestern ER; she was a 25-year-old woman. The gunshot pieces damaged her, but she was not shot. Her jacket was shot through.

The teenagers, who attend Innovation High School, were reportedly just allowed out of class, according to CPD. When two automobiles drew up, they were standing on the sidewalk. Several criminals wearing ski masks got out of the cars, shot them many times, and then ran south down Wabash. According to witnesses, there was a Ford and a blue Infinity.

Area 3 detectives are conducting their investigation; no suspects are in custody. If you have any information on this double killing, you may call Chicago Police 1st District at (312)745-4290 or stay anonymous by visiting CPDTIP.COM.

Today marks the sixth day that a young person in Chicago has been shot or killed; these lost people need assistance. Since that’s how they were raised and all they know, many of them are deeply involved in the street and gang life.

In the name of Jesus, kindly remember the families, the whole Innovations school staff, and the kids in your prayers as they grieve the death of their loved ones.
