Active Shooter: Witnesses described the shooting that happened in Newport on the Levee to the public, albeit in vague terms. They claimed that “it was an isolated incident” and that they have been told the Levee is not now under danger.
The scene is being guarded by cops. There are additional officers from Campbell County, Southgate, Newport, and the Kentucky State Police. On site is also a van used by the crime scene unit.
The issue is ongoing, according to Campbell County police dispatchers, who did not offer any additional information.
“Thankful everyone is okay and no severe damage was done. Please pray for everyone that was in the area. I was out with a couple friends celebrating my birthday early when this took place and we were right next to where the shooting was. I’ll never forget the faces of those babies running for their lives. I pray the Lords peace would cover their minds tonight.”
Right now, we’re still attempting to collect specifics about the number of victims and suspects from Newport Police Department.
