Shane O’Hanlon Obituary - Death

Shane O’Hanlon Obituary – Passed Away: After learning of the recent loss of their senior football selector and close friend Shane O’Hanlon, who was 82 years old, the St. Vincents GAA Club Marino, the Dublin GAA, and the Dublin Gaelic Fans all took to social media to express their sorrow.

To everyone who knew him, Shane was a great friend and a gentleman. He played a significant role in the Dublin team’s record-breaking performance during the previous ten years.

Shane has a long history with Dublin GAA, having served as a selector for both the senior squad under Jim Gavin and Dessie Farrell and the U21 team first. His lengthy tenure at St. Vincents as a player, mentor, selector, and executive committee member is perhaps less well known.

He played with St Vincents when they won Dublin in 2007 and went on to win county, regional, and all-Ireland championships in 2008. Volunteers like Shane are the foundation of clubs, and they are all fortunate to have him as one of their own.

Before the throw-in, there was a minute of silence in Belfast in honor of Shane O’Hanlon, their Senior Football selector and dear friend.

“We at This is Dublin Football would like to offer our sincerest condolences on the sudden passing of Shane O’Hanlon, especially to his wife Mary and his family.”

Thoughts and prayers are with Shane’s wife Mary, and all his family and friends.
