A shooting erupted near Compton College on Friday night, killing one and injuring four others.
The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. on E. Greenleaf Blvd. and S. Mayo Ave., outside what appeared to be a backyard party.
One of the five victims shot, who were three women and two men, died while being transported to the hospital.
The shooting was not directly related to the college campus.
Authorities have not yet released any information about the suspect or their motive.
