Woodlands Shooting

On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, around 2:30 a.m., Normal Police reported that they received a call regarding a gunshot victim inside a residence located in the 3000 block of Red Jasper Street. They discovered two persons inside the house who appeared to have been shot.

Life-saving procedures were initiated on the scene by police and the Normal Fire Department, and one person was transported to a nearby hospital. Subsequently, “both victims succumbed to their injuries.”

Their names are still under wraps. Later on Wednesday, more details should be available, according to Normal Police.

According to the police, the shooting seems to be a singular occurrence that poses no immediate risk to public safety.

Both the Normal Police Department and the McLean County Coroner’s Office are looking into the incident. We are not disclosing the victims’ names until their families are notified. According to the police, there is no immediate safety concern and the incident seems to be isolated.
