Howard Stone

Howard Stone, 64, a native of Spanish Fork, Utah, is still wanted. It is Thursday, August 22, and this is day number twelve that his family has not seen or heard from him.

Following a trek to Emery County’s Little Wild Horse Canyon, Howard’s son reported him missing. Nobody has been able to provide precise information on his location since then.

On Saturday, August 10, Howard Stone played golf at the Millsite Golf Course early in the morning before going on a hike in a slot canyon close to Goblin Valley. Family members started to worry when he failed to return and attempts at communication were unsuccessful.

After playing golf, Howard Stone told his family he was going to trek the canyon, but when he didn’t answer his son’s text, they sensed something wasn’t right.

They are appealing with the public to spread the word about this information so that Howard might be found quickly and returned home. Please keep a look out and share with anyone you believe may have information.

Family members, Emery County SAR and SO officers, DPS employees, and state park employees are all still involved in the daily search. For any information, call the Emery County Sheriff’s Office at (435-381-2112).

If any new information becomes available, we’ll post. Don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter to stay updated.
