Stephen Laybutt Missing

New South Wales Government Financial Officer Missing: In order to find Sydney man Stephen Laybutt, who went missing in the Tweed/Byron area, police are requesting the public’s help. On Friday, January 12, 2023, about 9 p.m., Stephen, 46, was last seen at a Casuarina residence.

When last seen, he was sporting knee-length board shorts with a blue design, thongs, and a light-colored blue or grey t-shirt.

Earlier in the day, Elizabeth Bay resident Stephen had gone to Casuarina to see some friends.

He was reported missing to the police on Saturday morning after he was neither found nor contacted.

According to descriptions, Stephen is a medium-built, Caucasian man who stands at around 180 cm tall, has black hair that is balding, is unshaven, and has a Ying and Yang tattoo on his right leg.

After some investigation by Tweed/Byron Police District personnel, the silver Mercedes belonging to Stephen was found in Cabarita stores this morning, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at around 11.30 a.m.

Although the police have searched the region extensively, they have not been able to locate him, and there are worries for his wellbeing.

It is recommended that anybody with information on Stephen’s whereabouts call Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
