What began as a peace vigil to honor Minnesota Vikings player Khyree Jackson, AJ Lytton, and Isaiah Hazel—three people who died in a tragic car crash on Saturday, July 6—on Friday, July 12 at Wise High School, on Brooke Lane in Greater Upper Marlboro—turned horrifying when gunshots were fired in the school’s parking lot.
Just as the commemorative event was about to come to a conclusion, gunfire broke out, striking a man and a woman. A patient with severe injuries was brought to the hospital.
At the hospital, the male victim was declared deceased.
The shooting, according to the authorities, occurred at around 10:00 p.m. Investigating the event on the scene is the Prince George’s County Police Department.
The community is still in disbelief since nobody saw a shooting at such a sentimental event.
PGCPD, Fire, and EMS were all present at the incident. They haven’t yet disclosed any more information.
