John Pappas Car Accident

On September 11, 2022, a two-vehicle incident on Strausser Street NW in Jackson Township resulted in the unfortunate death of John Pappas and injuries to his wife. Around 11 p.m. that evening, Jackson Township police report that 27-year-old Jacob Muiter struck their car while speeding and under the influence of narcotics and alcohol.

While his wife was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where her health is still unknown, John Pappas was declared dead at the spot.

Due to the tragic drunk driving event, Jacob Muiter has been condemned to a minimum of 10 years in jail. Several counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, two counts of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless operation of a vehicle, and speeding were among the charges to which he entered a guilty plea in Stark County Common Pleas Court.

After Judge Frank Forchione sentenced Muiter to 10 to 13½ years in jail, he was brought into custody right away. When Muiter drove his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado across the center line on Strausser Street NW, he had amphetamines in his system, according to court records, and his blood alcohol content was over three times the legal limit.

John Pappas has been gone from this world for the past two years. Nothing can fill the void left by his passing in the hearts of his loved ones, who will always remember him for the most amazing times he shared with them.

Please remember them in your prayers and thoughts.
