Clinton Township Shooting Fire - Explosion, Michigan

A wholesale facility on 15 Mile near Groesbeck Highway exploded on Monday, March 4, 2024, setting fire to many other surrounding structures. Authorities estimate that the explosion in Clinton Township started at 9:28 p.m.

The totally consumed structure prompted the Clinton Township Police and Fire Departments to respond and take precautions. Due to the high volume of traffic in the region, Groesbeck, Kelly, and 15 Mile were closed, preventing anyone from approaching the area.

All crews withdrew to their rigs as many explosions kept happening while fighting the fire.

There are numerous EMS rigs set up close to the location. The 10,000-gallon diesel fuel tank on the property was reported to the police by the property owner.

Up to one mile was affected by the debris that was launched into the air and fell to the ground. Stay away from the area and keep yourself safe because it’s uncertain what was burning and what the smoke or air could affect.

Following the enormous explosion, the authorities stated that at least one firefighter and passersby had been hurt.
