To the families of DeKuiper and Schermerhorn, prayers. A car that crossed the center line and collided with Sam DeKuiper’s vehicle took his life far too soon. Sam was a 2019 graduate, an incredible athlete, and an even better person.
Nobody is going to wear Titan green the way he did. He loved the process of being the best version of himself and had a work ethic that went above and beyond his urination. He saw the good in everything and always had a smile on his face.
Who Is Sam Dekuiper
Sam had a huge following. He played collegiate baseball for four years at Lawrence Tech after high school, where he was a standout player both on and off the field. Sam will live on in the hearts of those who love him.
Seeing the resiliency and strength of the human spirit in people like Paul Alexander is absolutely amazing. His story is a moving reminder of the resilience of willpower in the face of difficulty.
